Agriculture & Horticulture

The main issue with agriculture and horticulture is delivering moisture, oxygen and nutrients into the plants root zone for maximum growth. If any of these are limited in any way, then plant growth will be slow or limited meaning the cost of production will be affected.

Limiting moisture is obvious as all plants need water for growth. In soils containing hydrophobic humus, water is again limited as the humus materials can become hydrophobic thereby preventing the soil from wetting. Too much water in well drained soils is waste and hence cost. In poorly drained soils oxygen is limited which also affects production. In these conditions anaerobic bacteria take over and root disease can occur with plant death.

WET IT DOWN has application in both scenarios as it reduces the hydrophobicity of soil allowing water to pass down into the root zone carrying with it the necessary nutrients. Similarly, for water logged soils WET IT DOWN again reduces surface activity on soil particles allowing the water to pass deeper into the soil medium taking with it much needed oxygen. One customer used it on his turf farm and was able to get an extra cut per year thereby increasing his income by one third.
